Senior Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with over 34 years of experience in ophthalmology. She completed her MBBS from Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, and DO from NHL Medical College, Ahmedabad (through All India Entrance), followed by DNB from the prestigious Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai. After her DNB, she served as a Medical Officer at Aravind Eye Hospital for a year and later worked as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Nair’s Hospital, Kollam; Chaithanya Eye Hospital, SP Fort Hospital, and Chelsa Hospital. She then joined Kerala Health Services, completing 24 years of service across institutions including GH Thiruvananthapuram, Model Hospital Peroorkada, THQH Thripunithura, and GH Neyyattinkara. She has performed over 50,000 cataract surgeries in her career and served as the District Ophthalmic Surgeon, Thiruvananthapuram, for four years, including three years as in-charge of the mobile ophthalmic unit. Dr. Maya Devi is supported by her family—her husband, a retired AGM of Canara Bank, and their two sons.
